Why do we do it?

In fact, according to the World Health Organisation, approximately 15% of the global population lives with a disability, which amounts to more than one billion people worldwide.
In the UK, around 10.4 million people are affected by a disability, representing 17.8% of the population. In the US, this number rises to a staggering 61 million, or 26% of the population. In Canada, 6.3 million people live with a disability, which accounts for 22% of the population, while in Australia, the figure is 4.6 million, or 17.7% of the population.
